No More fear Mongering

CNBC announced a new concept in financial reporting: they will stop fear mongering every time the Markets fall a couple of percent below their highs.  Comcast’s CEO and parent of CNBC, Brian Roberts said, “We realize scaring the public increases our ratings, but in the future, bears such as Albert Edwards, Mark Faber, Richard Russell, Nouriel Roubini and others will only be allowed on camera if they are bullish.” CNBC further suggested the name of John Hussman would not be spoken on-air.  Rather than scare the public with financial news if the markets fall, Roberts said they have a new strategy: “We have hired Jim Cantore in the newly created CNBC position of Chief, Hurricane Reporter. Those guys at the Weather Channel figured out a long time ago that hurricanes are great for ratings and, more importantly, hurricanes are much more prevalent than Bear-markets,” he said.
